[LIZ DON’T READ THIS HAS SPOILERS OK]
It’s been a few years. Shepard has, over time, been regaining awareness and control over cognition again. Everything has been rebuilt, and some alliances have been strengthened. At first, everything was pretty good. Races were getting along and everyone was helping each other. A new council replaced the old one, ‘cause they all died on the Citadel (because reasons) when the Reapers took control of it.
I’m on the fence about this next one, but I either want Turians or the Asari to have salvaged Reaper parts to observe and mimic them - maybe try to pull off the same bit as the Illusive man, where he tries to learn how to indoctrinate. I originally wanted it Turian but would it make more sense for the Asari? Given they hoarded Prothean tech to remain ahead of the rest of the races? I need help figuring that one out.
Anyways.
So, during the time Shep is in a coma, this bullshit is unfolding and there are reports of entire ships disappearing around Asari or Turian space every so often. Garrus either works as a double agent here or he’s sent to Asari space under the guise of a diplomat or something similar to investigate with the help of Asari intel, including Liara (who is now being taken very seriously by her species) who may or may not actively participate in the mission (depending on if I get a Liara rper who wants to join and if they want to play Shadow Broker from a distance or something else? idk, it all depends), and maybe Aria. Other OC or Canon characters may actively join this, too.
So Shepard wakes up, and goes through the motions of finding out everything that’s gone down, brought up to date, told about the current mission, and sent back to N7 to train her body back to its former glory once she finishes physical therapy. Another year or so passes and she finally joins Garrus (and whoever else) on the mission. No real story is needed to explain her presence since Garrus and her are still together and it would make sense for her to be with him during his stay (which is staged as permanent). Also, I figure that they might be wary but they wouldn’t turn Shep away, either, given who she is and how powerful an influence they’d have over how widespread a population if they could succeed in indoctrinating her.
Soooo. That’s it so far, and it’s mostly backstory.
I’m still working on this, too, and still open to ideas or additions or even changes. So please, if you want to participate and/or pitch ideas, don’t hesitate to inquire about it.
